Those of you who know me, know that BIRDS and FRIENDS are my two favorite things. 🙂 So, if you put good birds and good company together in a great PLACE, then, in my book…. it’s *magic*!
That’s why Day 3 was a highlight of Mom’s Big Year ~ Texas Edition.
A very special and sincere note of thanks to Martin Hagne and to The Nature Conservancy for hosting us and allowing us access to the Love Creek Preserve. (You may know that my favorite job *EVERRR* was working for The Nature Conservancy in South Cape May Meadows, NJ- so I’m ~always~ quite partial to Nature Conservancy preserves.) 🙂
Uncle David and I had a super time ticking new birds for the year with Martin. “Mr. Bandera County” has a sharp eye, a great sense of humor, and the kindest of hearts. He took the day off from work and led us all over the place for every bird we needed for Mom’s Big Year. I was thrilled that I got bird #300 at the Love Creek Preserve and it was the endangered Black-capped Vireo! 🙂 Here are the new ones for the year list:

And we enjoyed a yummy lunch at The Apple Store (www.lovecreekorchards.com) in Medina… It’s NOT to be missed!
Great company and great birds in a really great place…..
That, my friends, is heaven on earth to me! 🙂
Way to go on reaching 300!!! Congrats! So glad you are having such a wonderful BIG YEAR!
Hugs!
